Are Champions born or made?

They were just born to do this......

It's in their genes.....................

They come from a talented family, their mum was an athlete, their dad was a professional, so they have already had a head start at becoming a winner!

Above are just a few of the comments that I hear on a daily basis whilst chatting to parents, coaches and in some cases young athletes whilst they go about their day.

I have my own beliefs on how individuals and teams become Champions and whilst watching this Nike promotional ad campaign from a few years ago it got me thinking on how others involved in the sport (parent's, coaches, athletes and volunteers) would respond if asked this question.

Are Champions born or are they made?
